Project Overview
Disciplines
UI Design
Tools
Figma
This project involved creating a technological solution to the growing e-waste problem and presenting a prototype and business proposal. Individually we came up with our own ideas and potential solutions and, as a group, decided which ideas we wanted to incorporate into our final solution.
Responsibilities
UI Design
Designed mobile and website screens aligned with the project's vision, ensuring a cohesive, intuitive, and visually engaging user experience.
Prototyping
I designed intuitive interfaces and prototyped interactions to showcase user flows, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience
Project Goal
Our goal with this project was to create an easy, accessible way for people to responsibly dispose of their old electronics while learning more about the growing issue of electronic waste. As technology advances at a rapid pace, e-waste has become a significant problem, and we wanted to address it in a way that was both educational and practical. Together, we developed a business concept and designed a prototype website and mobile app aimed primarily at young adults. The idea was to raise awareness, educate users about the impact of e-waste, and provide a tangible solution to help them take action. Through this project, we hoped to empower users to make a difference while addressing a critical environmental challenge.

Sign In & Sign up
Easy and simple sign-in and sign-up process using an email or quick sign-in and sign-up using an existing google or Twitter account.
Onboarding
Onboarding introduces the users to the application, highlighting the main features of the application, which include the News, Marketplace, e-waste pickup service and the recycling centre finder.

E-Waste Pickup
If devices must be thrown out, the eCycle pickup service will let users contact local recycling pickup services to come and pick up their old devices. Users can select which devices they want to recycle, add pickup notes and instructions for drivers and schedule times for pickup.
Find recycling facilities
Recycling facilities can be located using the recycling centre finder, so users can easily find a place to recycle their old devices if selling them or having them picked up is not an option.
The Ultimate Figma Masterclass, led by Michael Wong, has significantly enhanced my proficiency in Figma, particularly in leveraging auto layout for evenly spaced, scalable, and accessible designs that facilitate collaboration with developers and users. The course also provided valuable insights into the end-to-end UI design process, encompassing idea presentation and iteration with clients and stakeholders, organising workflows and page structures for improved clarity, and delivering final designs and expressions so that my design intentions and layouts are apparent to clients and developers.
